Overview:
Join our dedicated team at STEMS Wayland at Lee’s Farm, where student farm hands are given an invaluable opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of sustainable agriculture. As a Student Farm Hand, you will play a vital role in the cultivation and maintenance of our crops, learning fundamental farming techniques and contributing to the success of our farm. This position provides hands-on experience in various aspects of farming, guided by experienced mentors and professionals in the field.
Responsibilities:
Farming and Cultivation:
- Assist in all stages of the farming process, from preparing soil to planting and harvesting crops.
- Learn and implement sustainable farming practices under the guidance of the farm team.
- Collaborate with fellow farm hands to ensure the health and vitality of our seasonal crops.
Field Maintenance:
- Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as watering, weeding, and pest control.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in farm work areas.
- Support the upkeep of farm equipment and tools.
Learning and Development:
- Participate in training sessions to deepen understanding of agricultural principles and techniques.
- Benefit from mentorship provided by experienced farmers and agricultural professionals.
- Engage in team discussions to share insights, challenges, and collaborative solutions.
Qualifications:

Schedule:
This is a part-time, seasonal position with flexible hours, dependent on farming activities and seasonal demands. Availability during weekends and peak farming times is required.
